If you ask me what’s perfection, I’d say that it’s the combination of mountains and sea 🥰

I can’t have enough of the crystal clear turquoise water and the curvy roads with breathtaking views!

And I can’t believe I only spent 8 days in Croatia – I have at least a month worth of emotions!

Just a few highlights:
– visiting the abandoned under terrestrial airbase Zeljava
– riding over the last mountain range to the coast, through insane rain and wind into summer and sunshine
– first ferry ride for my 🐝
– Pág island, was like a trip to the moon or another planet, so different and incredible the landscape is there
– quiet day in Pakoštane, looking at the sea and still not believing I finally made it to the good weather (after all the rain and cold starting in Lithuania and all the way down to Croatia, except for a few wonderful days in Slovakia and Hungary)
– Omiš with its cliffs and curves
– trip to Sv.Jure 🔥🔥🔥 I have no words to express those feelings – go watch the video on IGTV and multiply by 1 billion!
– and two days of pure chill in Makarska, letting the 🐝 have a well deserved rest, leaving the moto gear at home, wearing a dress, enjoying the mountain views, the walks through the pine forest, the secluded beach, swimming with the fishes, and loving this life with my whole heart!

So full of emotions! So full of adventures! So full of love to this beautiful world! So grateful to the universe for this opportunity to see and experience it all! 💛

Croatia step by step:

18. Budapest 🏍 Gospić (arriving to Croatia from Hungary with an overnight stay in Slovenia)

Needless to say that the landscape became much more exciting as I was nearing the Hungarian border, followed by a full day of driving curves and enjoying the views of Croatia!

With the highlight of stopping by Zeljava airbase! An incredible subterranean construction, a maze of 3.5 tunnels, and hangars, it was planned as indestructible military headquarters during the Cold War, and was completely destroyed in 1992 as the Yugoslavia collapsed. Almost 30 years ago. Unbelievable sight.

I even explored the tunnel with my baby bee driving around and using the high beam to see the insides. And afterwards I drove the runway, too.

I was so excited that barely noticed that it was getting dark and I still had to drive through the mountains to get to my stay for the night. It was very dark, very curvy, and very cold 😬 But we made it!

🐝 is my hero!

19. Gospić 🏍 Pakoštane

Last bit to get to the coast crossing the last mountain range, just a few kilometers but it wasn’t an easy ride, started off with rain, and followed by very strong wind gusts, so strong that I was blown off the lane a couple of times. All combined with a very curvy road. But oh my god it was beautiful!

Once I got to Prizna, I was in doubt whether to take a ferry to the Pág island or not, as I was afraid that the wind would only get worse but I took the chance! And it was a good choice. I found a cafe on the coast sheltered from the wind and had a long break, sipping on my latte and enjoying the sunshine and the view over the sea and surrounding islands.

And then I rode through the island with its incredible ever changing views, glacier mountain tops on the left, curves along the coast, and endless moon-like views. It was way above my expectations and absolutely stunning!

A few more windy parts of the road and I got to Zadar for the sunset and continued for a bit more to my stay in Pakoštane, a little beach town on the way to Split, where I can have a rest day and recharge for new adventures!

20. Pakoštane 🏍 Omiš

Said goodbye to my wonderful host in Pakoštane and took off to continue the trip to the south.

Now that I’ve reached the warm Croatian coast, I decided to slow down and enjoy the curvy Adriatic road, taking as many stops along the way as I feel like, ride around every peninsula, and generally choose enjoying the moment over covering extra kilometers.

This ride was amazing and the views kept getting better and better, the best ones on the way from Split to Omiš, so I think I’ll have to drive that bit again later today 😅

Also, it was about time to change the oil, so I had a quick stop in a bike service shop in Sibenik to get it done.

21. Omiš 🏍 Omiš

I always need some kind of goal to get out of the door. Even if it’s a fake one. This time as I didn’t really need to go anywhere, I decided to go to the supermarket.

The trick is to choose a supermarket far away and see as many cool roads and places on the way as possible 😁

At times it was scary, at times breathtakingly beautiful, at times peacefully quiet, with a gorgeous sunset in the end, followed by a crazy uphill drive to my apartment.

And yeah, I didn’t really need anything in the supermarket so I just got a few apples, a cucumber, a bottle of water and rice crackers 🤣 I had to get something, right?

22. Omiš 🏍 Makarska & Sv.Jure 1762m

From the sea level up to 1762m above it and back down. 94 kilometers of breathtaking (literally) views and crazy curves, when you don’t know if you’re more excited or scared, or maybe it’s the top concentration of both that makes this experience so outstanding!

The way back was even more beautiful in the sunset light but my GoPro was out of both memory and battery. And so was I, to be honest. But while the GoPro could just shut down and rest, I had to drive 😅

I’d be compensating for it right next day, lying at a divine beach in Makarska enjoying the sun and the calming sound of the waves.

23. Makarska 🏍 Mostar (leaving Croatia)

You know this feeling when you wake up and you clearly remember the dreams you had, so vivid and colorful, that it’s hard to believe they were just dreams. But at the same time they were so unrealistic and so many things happened in such a short time that it could only be dreams.

That’s the feeling I had when I drove from Makarska, along the wonderful Adriatic coast with its incredible views, and then into the mountains, away from the sea to cross the border to Bosnia, visit the Kravice waterfalls and then find myself in the XVth century fairytale 🧚‍♀️ of Počitelj.
